LATIN & BALLROOM MUSIC TEMPO

  • Samba:                50-52 BPM
  • Cha Cha Cha:      30-32 BPM
  • Rumba:                25-27 BPM
  • Paso Doble:         60-62 BPM  
  • Jive:                     42-44 BPM 
  • Waltz:                  28-30 BPM
  • Tango:                 31-33 BPM
  • Viennese Waltz:  58-60 BPM
  • Slow Foxtrot:       28-30 BPM
  • Quickstep            50-52 BPM

RULES FOR SOLO CATEGORIES 

In the “solo” categories the music is provided by the organizer - except in the categories where show criterion is included (Latin Show, Street Dance Show, Show Dance etc.) and also in the Oriental Folk, Ballet, Acro, categories where the participants dance on their own music since the First round and until the Final. 

The participants in the “open” categories cannot compete also in the “beginners” categories of the same Dance Discipline. 

The participants in the «professional» categories cannot compete also in the “amateur” categories of the same Dance Discipline. 

TIME DURATION OF SOLOS: Max 1:30 min

 

RULES FOR SMALL GROUPS & FORMATIONS 

Small Groups: only 1 dancer from the next group age category is allowed to dance for the groups of 3 -5 participants and up to 2 dancers for the groups of 6 or 7 participants.

Formations: up to 3 dancers from the next group age category are allowed to dance for the groups of 8-12 participants and up to 4 dancers for the groups of 13 or more participants.

Music Duration 

  • Duos/Couples: Max 1:30 min
  • Small Groups (3 - 7 dancers): Max 3:00 min
  • Formations (8 - … dancers): Max 4:00 min

All Duos except synchro, latin style and ballroom dance on their own music since the First Round.

 

RULES FOR “CLOSED” CATEGORIES

All syllabuses are accepted. The dancers must dance strictly the book figures. Any free or choreographic interpretation not allowed.

JUDGING SYSTEM

For all IDO categories: 3D & 4D Score to Skating System will be used.

For SOL, DUO & COUPLES in Latin & Standard dances: Skating System will be used.

ADJUDICATORS

International and National licensed Adjudicators.
